The anticipated IRIS projects are listed below. The roadmap is only a guide and is subject to change. As of October 2020, the IRIS project has already completed the PANGU stage and is currently in the NUWA stage.
PANGU (January 2018 - March 2019) The first phase of the IRIS project focused on getting the IRIS hub up and running. An initial version of the mobile client for the IRIS network has been released. This phase also focused on building the basic IRIS service layer that was released to the IRIS hub. The basic IRIS service layer enables the definition, binding, invocation, and querying of services.
NUWA (April 2019-October 2019) In this phase, the foundational modules to support application development was added, especially DeFi applications. New modules to be released in this phase, such as multi-asset management, coin swapping, and multi-sig accounts. To develop applications using these modules, the plan is to work with one or two ecosystem partners. The plan also intends to complete a test connection with CosmosHub via IBC at this stage.
KUAFU (November 2019 - June 2021) This phase aims to achieve a connection between the IRIS Hub and the application blockchain via IBC. The IRISnet mobile client will be upgraded to support these applications. The third phase will also focus on upgrading the IRIS network to support the planned advanced IRIS service capabilities.
HOUYI (after July 2021) Phase 4 will focus on further innovation and developer involvement in the IRIS network, SDK and mobile client.
